Huskies football season ended after 9-7 loss to Adams Central in the first round of playoffs. Going into the game everyone was confident with the game plan and was ready to show off the plays they had been practicing all week.
“I thought we prepared well in practice but it just wasn’t enough but I’m still extremely proud of how we played,” quarterback Booker Scheierman said.
Going into the game coaches had a very strong game plan and they were expecting it to be a
very close game.
“We had a great week of practice and we were confident that we had made enough changes that we would be successful,” head coach Kyle Peterson said.
Since this was the Huskies’ second time playing the Patriots, both teams knew what to look for while playing.
“Their defense played really well and they understood our offensive scheme so I think we should have ran the ball more,” senior Kaiden Wineteer said.
Coach Peterson also said that the two teams both had a great defensive game and when it came down to it, they outplayed us on the offensive side.
Senior Treshaun Beed was out with an injury for most of the season but was able to come back for the last couple of games.
“For me this season was just about competing with myself and getting better but I'm glad I got the opportunity to come back and finish out the season,” he said.
With this being their last year, the seniors all agreed that being with their friends was a huge part of being a Husky.
“ Just being with my friends and being able to make memories one last year with them meant a lot this season,” senior Kendrik Owens said.
Although this season was the first season in three years that the Huskies haven’t made it to the finals, it was a season to be proud of.
