Aurora girls’ golf hosted their own home invite, Sept. 9 at Poco Creek golf course. Junior Jorja Pohlmeier, sophomore Lylah Mitchel, junior Annalise Jones and freshman Natalie Thompson were Aurora’s varsity performers, playing for almost six hours that Saturday morning.
“Saturday went pretty good for me,” Lylah said. “I had gotten the best score I’ve ever gotten and I think we performed well as a team along with having a lot of fun.”
Lylah recorded the best score of her career during the invite with a new PR of 110 and placed seventh.
“I didn’t do my best; I struggled during the middle of the meet but dug deep and persevered, ending up getting tenth at the meet,” Jorja said. “Overall, every person saw improvement and I think I should work on getting my drives more consistent in the next coming days.”
Jorja scored second-best on the team, placing tenth with a score of 113.
Overall, Aurora placed fourth at the invite, finishing with a score of 509.
